Bulk Transit Website Redesign

bulktransit.com

Our team’s next project was to redesign Bulk Transit’s website. We really wanted the site to function as a tool for both customers and prospective drivers. Similar to the DBTI site, the owners of Bulk wanted users to be able to explore the job openings and capabilities of each terminal.

To help users find the terminals in their area, we decided to create an interactive map that, when a terminal area is clicked on or tapped, would trigger a pop up that shows general information and a “Get More Info” text link that would take them to the individual terminal page.

In addition to Google Analytics and Hotjar, the web team and I like to test sites with the entire Bulldog team prior to launch, just to get a diverse set of eyes on the product. In addition, we find this is a good way to test the site on different browsers and devices. One of the major things we tested with the team was the usability of the terminal map on the home page. We tasked them with finding the map as quickly as they could. We found that many of the test subjects did not scroll down to the map on the homepage. As a result, we added the “Find a Terminal” text link on the hero image, and that takes them directly to the map.
